Frequently Asked Questions
-
As an executive speechwriter, Rose will partner with you from the day you receive the invitation to speak to our final debrief together after the event. In other words, we’ll work together on a mutually-agreed upon schedule that ensures you feel fully prepared on the big day.
-
Good question! It depends, so talk to Rose. Once she learns whether you need a 2-minute 'thank you' speech at an awards ceremony or an 18-minute TED talk at the local convention center, she’ll give you a verbal quote. If you‘d like to work together, she’ll follow up with a written proposal.
-
Absolutely. Rose will not only study previous video recordings and remarks you've given, she'll take careful notes each time you meet. You'll also review various drafts and have ample opportunity to make the speech yours. In 20-plus years of speechwriting for clients in the government, business, nonprofit communities, she's never had a single individual who felt the speech didn't represent him or her.
-
Rose gets this question in training all the time! Her answer: did the audience heed your call to action? Did they donate to your cause? Invest in your company? Call the mayor's hotline? Write to their Senator? In short, were they moved enough by your speech to DO what you recommended? Other options include audience member surveys; instant feedback via apps like Mentimeter; and tracking momentum on social media (i.e., number of "reposts" or "likes”).
-
Both. We'll likely meet in person if you live in Portland, Oregon, or you're located in a city where Rose is already traveling for work such as Washington, DC, New York City, and London.
-
Starting work a month in advance will suffice for most presentations. That said, every speech is different. Rose has written last-minute wedding toasts 2 days before the ceremony as well as CEO keynotes that take months. The point? Reach out sooner than later.
